Introduction

Hi! I'm Hannah and I'm super excited to be involved in our "Imagine the Future" class! I am a Marine Science major and I'm from Virginia. I grew up in the Virginia Beach area and visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina, so I've always had an affinity toward the water. I'm deeply passionate about environmental conservation on land and in water, and want to focus my career on restoring life in our oceans. I am very close to my family, who are all back in Virginia, but especially my twin brother, Jake. Jake is my best friend and is the main person who keeps me grounded in life. We shared a love for music since a very young age, which has turned us into concert addicts of musicians from every genre. Music has served as an outlet for me throughout my life. I was a competitive dancer as a kid and I used music and dance as a way to express myself and emotions. My favorite artists right now are Harry Styles, Wallows, and Greta Van Fleet. I love being outdoors, especially at the beach, and my favorite thing to do is spend time with friends and family. I would consider myself sociable, easygoing, and disciplined.

After our first class meeting, I'm feeling eager to get started and discuss how film and literature can help us imagine the future. I'm excited to see how we can analyze film and literature from the past and present to better understand and draw conclusions on how technology is the way it is today. I am hoping to improve my analysis skills through our class discussions and learn more about how past film and literature helped shape the future.

  1. I love this!! I also use music as an outlet whether that just be to relax, destress after a long day, or feel related to! You seem like such a genuine, down to earth person that I'm so excited to connect and work with throughout the semester! I can't wait for our movie nights haha (:

  2. I used to be a competitive dancer too so music and dance have always been an outlet for me as well!! I'm excited to get to know you this year and work together on projects. It seems like our group will definitely have a lot of fun but also be able to provide different perspectives which will be cool!
